Pre-Owned 2022 Ford Expedition Max Platinum 4x4 in St. Louis, MO

The 2022 Ford Expedition Max Platinum immediately impresses with an unexpectedly engaging driving experience for such a substantial SUV. Steering feels direct and reassuring, with well-weighted feedback that cultivates confidence on winding roads and straight highways alike.

Drivers who prioritize a connection to the road will appreciate how the Expedition Max Platinum transforms expectations for full-size SUVs. It is tailored for enthusiasts who notice subtle differences in steering calibration and how a vehicle settles into a corner. Those who regularly test-drive rivals and crave a ride that feels both luxurious and responsive will find the Platinum trim’s balance of comfort and engagement especially appealing. Around St. Louis, where weather and road conditions vary, the 4WD system and adaptive suspension assure composed handling whether navigating city streets or heading out for a weekend getaway.

Performance in the Expedition Max Platinum is defined by the EcoBoost 3.5L V6 GTDi DOHC 24V Twin Turbocharged engine, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Throttle response is brisk and linear, delivering smooth, effortless acceleration that belies the SUV’s size. The transmission shifts quickly and unobtrusively, always seeming to select the right gear for confident merging or smooth cruising. Steering communicates the road surface without transmitting harshness, while the adaptive suspension actively balances comfort and control, allowing the vehicle to settle quickly after bumps and remain composed during spirited lane changes.

Safety technology in this SUV is engineered to enhance, not override, the driver’s sense of control. Electronic Stability Control intervenes seamlessly if traction is compromised, supporting stability without intruding on the driving experience. The inclusion of ABS brakes and brake assist provide linear, consistent pedal feel and strong confidence under hard stops. Features such as blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control work alongside the driver, making highway travel less stressful while maintaining the sensation of being in command. The system’s calibration ensures that advanced safety aids are complements, not substitutes, for attentive driving.

The Platinum trim comes equipped with features that elevate both comfort and engagement. Heated and ventilated leather front captain’s chairs, a heated steering wheel, and a power moonroof create a premium, inviting environment for the driver. The Bang & Olufsen Unleashed Sound System with 22 speakers delivers immersive audio tailored to every journey. Genuine wood inserts on the dashboard and doors add tactile luxury, while the navigation system with Connected Navigation provides intuitive guidance. Adaptive suspension, speed-sensing steering, and a suite of climate controls further tailor the cabin to every preference, keeping long drives enjoyable and fresh.

Compared with alternatives like the Chevrolet Suburban High Country and the GMC Yukon Denali, the Expedition Max Platinum stands out for its responsive steering and advanced suspension tuning.

Is the Expedition Max Platinum comfortable on long drives? Absolutely-adaptive suspension, supportive captain’s chairs, and rear air conditioning keep everyone relaxed over extended distances. How quiet is the cabin at highway speeds? Sound insulation and quality materials ensure minimal road and wind noise, supporting a serene environment.
