Its well-tuned suspension soaks up bumps without feeling floaty, and the combination of front-wheel drive and four-wheel independent suspension keeps handling composed even when fully loaded with passengers or cargo. Those who pay attention to steering feel, throttle input, and road isolation during their test drives will appreciate how the Traverse balances engagement and refinement for daily enjoyment.

6L V6 SIDI VVT, which responds crisply to throttle inputs, especially when merging or passing. The nine-speed automatic transmission shifts cleanly and intuitively, always seeming to find the right gear without hesitation or unwelcome delay. The suspension strikes a thoughtful balance: it’s compliant enough to absorb city potholes, yet taut enough to prevent excessive body roll in corners. Steering calibration is direct but never twitchy, offering a reassuring sense of control. Braking feels progressive and confidence-inspiring, with four-wheel disc brakes that deliver consistent stopping power in varied conditions.

Safety systems in this SUV are designed to enhance the driving experience rather than intrude. Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control work subtly in the background, correcting your line only when truly necessary-allowing confident, enthusiastic driving without constant interruption. The Convenience & Driver Confidence Package brings peace of mind with features like a rearview camera and brake assist, which help you maintain control in emergency maneuvers. ABS brakes ensure linear, predictable stops, supporting a smooth and assertive driving style. These active safety systems are engineered to support, not override, the driver’s instincts, making time behind the wheel more enjoyable and secure.

Feature content in the LT 1LT trim elevates both daily drives and longer journeys. The Convenience & Driver Confidence Package introduces useful upgrades such as remote keyless entry, a power driver seat, and heated door mirrors, all designed to streamline your connection with the vehicle. The Chevrolet Infotainment System supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it easy to access your favorite apps and playlists.

In a competitive SUV segment, the Traverse distinguishes itself with its road composure and confident driving feel. Compared to the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot, it offers a slightly more engaging steering response and a balance between ride comfort and control that many rivals strive to achieve.

How does the third row affect driving dynamics? The split-bench third row is designed for flexibility without compromising the vehicle’s balanced handling, maintaining composure even when fully occupied.
